Sitting in an old tire swinging on a rope while leaf fairies twitter from a tired old oak He plays his dads guitar and gives her a sparkling glance He says he's gonna be a star and asks her to the dance They were teens just a-runnin' wild in love since they were five He called her his little "honey-child" and made her feel alive Then they split-up for nigh a year thought they'd run around The time had made them both pay dear 'cause they were trouble bound Now the two came back together as the storm clouds did subside And now the sunny weather finds them walkin' side-by-side ...just bein' Bluesy |

So much to like about this poem! Like this! Sitting in an old tire swinging on a rope while leaf fairies twitter from a tired old oak Terrific Bluesy! I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather...not like the passengers screaming in the back of his car. |

I don't know what to say about this poem. I like it very much. Back in tha day when love is young and fresh and uncomplicated, makes me think of Ivory soap... ~L |

Cool Reprise the third stanza at the end and you have song lyrics, a la the late 50's. No? Enjoyed this! |
