Mother Nature is regarded as a woman, expressing her will in whirlpool winds Ever-present and sustaining, washing away all our sins Missiles rest in silent silos, topped with deadly chain reactions People shiver with fear and loathing, as negotiations lose their traction Racial indifference filling our streets Everyone saying who's wrong Funny, how little everyone looks, as they huddle ‘singing’ their song Just slipped some popcorn into the micro, out from the laundry room shuffles my spouse Viewing the world on our comfy divan, from the only window in the house ...just bein' Bluesy |

Maybe yes...maybe no, JerryPat. You see, the "window" is a television set. Thanks for the read... ...just bein' Bluesy |

If you don't understand, it's ok JerryPat. It's not a graded test. I was writing about getting all the news from "the only window in the house"... The TV. That's all. I'm not smart enough to write complex poetry. ...just bein' Bluesy |

Blusey, And what a jaded window it can be...but still it can fill us with wonders of the natural world and other people and places depending which way we choose to look "out". ~L |

Thanks for your comment Lori Rhoden. It is indeed "jaded", but as you say, it brings a positive influence into our homes too. Thanks again. ![]() ...just bein' Bluesy |

That window is "channeled" to educate or entertain. We can look out as far as our curiosity takes us or remain where we are. In my day (as a kid) we would go to bed at midnight because the window would play the national anthem and tell us good night. Work like money doesn't matter, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching... |

Ha! You're 'spot-on' Wanda! I came up in a big city when only a few VHF stations were broadcast (2,5,7,9, and 11), and just as you say, they all went off the air around midnight with the National Anthem and the image of a furling flag. They'd come back on at 5 am with some at 6 and 7. Thanks for your nostalgic reply! ![]() ...just bein' Bluesy |

My Grandpa liked the TV and called ME the "idiot". Mom used to say, "Gramps, I think you've got something there!" Thanks for the uplifting reply though, Pinky. Just another case of 'love lost to the grayscale'. ![]() ...just bein' Bluesy |
