There are whispers in the woods
where temptation haunts and lovers dwell.
Stirring my private heart
moving deep inside the rustling
holding the moment still.
Magnifying the silence
a hush quivers quietly
skimming the shallow waters.
A seeking beyond the proximity of daydreams
relishing in vivid recall,
takes me back to the beginning
when I first held your eyes.

My backbone fixed and knitted,
hard pressed between summer leaves
and moss covered stones.
A measured moment in time
tucked inside a hollow oak.
But it was the secret cove after the rain fell
where I was most content.
Relishing the fluid flutter
slipping between clouds of cashmere
folded up in the beat of your heart.

Like a silver lining that keeps me covered
when my breath becomes a murmur
dancing on the wind that stirs my memories
leaves me without words to define you.
You were simply
the beginning and end of my poetry.
Swaying in the gentle pull
under the blissful blue ethereal of midnight.
Our stars crossed
until the river ran and pulled me under,
stepping freely off the edge.
Drowning beneath each sensational ripple
rushing in the warmth of your rapids,
that I knew by no other heart,
sending me,
time after time.

Damn Bluses, you pulled out all the stops and gave your readers a grand slam of rich words and inner feelings. There are so many wonderful one liners, to list them all I would have to post your whole poem. Magnificent!

Truly exceptional writing my friend. I don't know how you do it. Really loving the colors you used here. Damn beautiful.

Far beyond the drumming of the heart and the heat of the skin flushed to the point just shy of flames, this piece is your soul speaking, my friend, yearning for things past, as well as pulling today into perspective.

We all send vibes though the ether, sooner or later, and I dare say, your heart, your soul, the personification of you, was in this piece, reworked or not, today.

Sometime a piece we offer, be it old, be it new, appears at the perfect time in our lives, and everything that makes us, us, screams, THIS IS ME! , as IMHO, you've done here.

Lovely write from your ultimate depths, my friend and I enjoyed immensely!

My Heart - Yours . . .

As exquisite as your poem is, Blues, and I love and relate to every word, what I relate to most is every bit of:

"You were simply
the beginning and end of my poetry."

That says it all.

Beautiful imagery...can feel the yearn.  Glad to see this one make its way back up.

Soul drifter...sorry I’m so late telling you how happy I am that you stopped by.  Made my day.

JW,  thank you for your introspective reply to my work.  Yep this is who I am and I’m good with that.  I mean if we aren’t true to ourselves then we are pretty much out of options.  Thank you kind sir.

Oh Coco how very good it is to see you here.  Thank you for taking the time to look me up.  My muse went on a long long vacation and I don’t think she’s coming back.  So happy to see you, thanks again.

Hi Sky, thanks for your gracious reply to my poem.  Always good to see and read you at Pip.

Lady Owl, you crack me up, only you dear lady.  Thanks for being here.

Michael,  it means a lot to have you read and leave a reply to my poem.  I think we are similar when it comes to poetry, we both write deep emotion.  I am happy we are both here, sort of. 😎

Like you, I’m always happy to read and see a familiar name.  Change is a constant, and so it goes....

but those were the days and I miss them.  Thanks Ida.
