Schism Memories uninvited, well they sing to me, so soft. A man dearly nearsighted to the distant and aloft. A dream once kept in pocket, life itself drifting away. Tomorrow on the docket, never once live for the day. A soul gifted to christening—all happiness to purge. I sing to no one’s listening, silence become my dirge. Echoes wafting through shadow, but a flutter to the eye Fading to the dim afterglow of never said goodbye. The well marked skin, the sightless stare: bare tributes to hope lost— The demise of a heart laid bare—lines unknowingly crossed. The specters of the living, all, oblivious my tread. My march itself becomes the pall of a man all but dead. I let the darkness claim me as this quest, devoid of shine, Just further serves to shame me to the kiss I would name Mine. This schism between have and want, when neither fills the need. I wander through life’s endless haunt, forsaken by the deed. Michael Anderson 08/11/2017 |

The girls hit the nail on the head about your poetry....sometimes it is really difficult for me to read it is so dark (and I try to avoid that darkness constantly)But your work really is so good, your form is perfection, when I'm "up" to it I can't resist. ~L |
