There are times
when a radiant morning light
dawns like a solemn promise
of a new beginning,
An almost holy sight.

Abd then there's that light
near the end of day
that almost takes your breath away.
Brilliant in color,
pure and clean,
like a beautiful song...
if a song could be seen.

Enthralled by that moment
of shimmering light play,
You just have to rejoice
in the pure light of day.

Those kind of mornings as the colors mesmerize us is almost god-like, giving us an understanding of ourselves, Ida.

"...and then there was light." Nothing is more beautiful or awe inspiring than the light play in the skies. You got it Ida! ~L

I think many poets can see songs, more than most.

Reading this reminds me of why I came back to PIP. Reading poetry like this has a crisp, clean feeling that uplifts the soul. I can easily picture the ethereal sunrise and sunset in your words.

There's a minor typo on the first phrase of your 2nd stanza. "Abd" should be "And" ... just so you know. But it didn't take away from the beauty of your writing. Enjoyed.

I used to live all day in anticipation of nighttime, but I finally have found an appreciation for daylight through mornings on my front porch with coffee and amusing brave squirrels. It took me a long time to realize why my father sat outside in the mornings.

I love this. It is peaceful,  and makes me want to stay here on the porch a little longer.
