Hazy

The hazy imperfection,
A perfect suit for me.
I stare into the sunrise,
There’s so much more I see.
Momentary reflection
Of a far younger day:
A child staring at the skies—
An old man walking away.

What happens to the yearning?
The passions that define us?
The world just keeps on turning
Till the misery refines us.
A conflagration burning
Through the essence of your being,
Until there’s no discerning
What it really is you’re seeing.

Get lost in the rendition,
You can’t fight your way clear.
When you’re intrinsically broken,
Drinking to the wasted year.
Oh yeah, a war of attrition;
Where you never take your stand,
And promises left unspoken
Never fill those empty hands.

I found this to be very discouraging. At least I think that is the main button you pushed. You always stir the emotional cauldron when you write and different layers come wafting to the top. As always your structure and mechanics are perfection. ~L

Michael- I enjoyed your poem. In the world of today, it's hard to feel like we can make a different in how things are going but we must never give up.

Use your imagination. It's the most powerful tool you have. Einstein once said: "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution."

You have a very unique talent for writing. So never stop writing.
