It's almost 4 a.m. Wipe the sleep from my eyes I'm a woman on a mission I can't wait for sun~rise I scoop up my lantern My net and trusty pole Scurry with great fury To my favorite hole It's a serene little spot Underneath a massive oak A most enchanting landscape For a juicy worm to soak The water ripples softly Across the rock strewn creek I sit waiting patiently As the fish play hide and seek The crickets serenade me With a mesmerizing tune The bullfrogs bellow out the chorus By the light of the silvery moon Not wanting to be left out The hoot~owls join right in As the beauty of nature awakes Ready for a new day to begin My perserverance has paid off Seems I'm going to get my wish I just landed the BIG ONE! The Grand~Daddy of all catfish! As I'm sitting here writing this I'm grinnin' from ear to ear Cause any one who does much fishin' Knows the end of the story from here..... © Poet In Pink It was THIS BIG and weighed THIS MUCH!! {You know how a fisherman measures} ![]() |
