I wrote this piece several years ago for someone very special to me - - - it seems it's becoming more and more prevalent in my life as time passes - this time, although late in finding out, Margherita Rüeger an absolutely wonderful individual and friend. Another One Is Gone More and more I find myself relating to my father; my wife's father; because I remember both saying, " every time I look up . . . - Another one is gone . . ." In the heart beats of the days that make up the last few years I've lost too many, and now, I've lost another - relative, friend, lover . . . soul, with which I've measured my life. And my heart beats slowly, my breath comes shallow, and I touch the place on my chest where the ache is more than the loss of a relative, a friend, a lover, or a soul, because with every passing . . . I am less than I was before. My heart beats slowly. My breath comes shallow. I touch the place on my chest, where my soul withers in pain; another one . . . is gone. ~ ~ ~ jimmy |

Pleased to meet you J ~ May I say first off, I am sorry to hear of your loss. You have penned so tenderly how we each feel when having to bare a loss. This tugs at my heart~strings, I find my own self being able to relate to your sentiments of late. Thank you for sharing & God Bless |

Margherita was beauty and grace. To stumble in here and see so many loving tributes, I know her loss is sharply felt. Thank you for sharing. Heather "Can you see the real me?" Pete Townshend |

Jimmy, you speak for many, my friend. Thank you. "The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." Thomas Hardy |

because with every passing . . . I am less than I was before. My heart beats slowly. My breath comes shallow. I touch the place on my chest, where my soul withers in pain; I knew my visit today would be limited, but I didn't know how to find a stopping place. Now I know... it is here, it is now. And it's not just because I can't read or respond through the tears... It's because I know I won't read better or be touched more deeply. |
