Precious Memories By Paul Wilson ( In memory of my daughter ) A year has passed since we said goodbye Special flowers have bloomed and died Birds are flying south one more time I can’t count the tears that I’ve cried Where did the time go since you left? The leaves of autumn are falling Coming... cold gray days of winter In vain your name I keep calling Another day circled on calendar In remembrance of you leaving I give thanks to God every day For strength he gives in my grieving No phone calls from you anymore I wait patiently for a sign Your pictures I visit each day Memories we shared in my mind I play music you loved so much Singing words with you on my mind Sadness fills my heart since you left Asking why… I was left behind? Your birthday has come and gone dear No jokes to tell to you this year Another day of missing you Another day wishing you were here I know there were secrets you kept Because you didn’t want to hurt me I knew about them all along They were all crystal clear to me So many things we never shared So much more I could have taught you Music and the meaning of the words Stories and poems written for you Sing your songs sweet daughter of mine Eternal life yours… you are free One day we’ll be together again For eternity... you and me Your sweet words echo in my mind From where these words come I don’t know They comfort me at my lowest Words spoken by you years ago Your journey thru life is over The heartache and pain is now gone You wear a smile of happiness Each day as you face a new dawn These words given to me by God To share with you this special day Memories shared by you and me I celebrate your life today “Molly Lynn Wilson Adams” 4/5/1964 ~ 11/13/2019 Copy Right11/13/2020 ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (11-13-2020 09:03 PM).] |

A beautiful tribute, Paul. I can especially relate to the part towards the end where you speak of "past words" bringing you comfort. I hear my father's voice from time to time, words spoken then that seem to fit the occasions now. Words are powerful things: threads to the soul. Michael |

This has me wishing that I could hug you. I've never been a parent so I cannot imagine the feeling of losing a child. I can tell you from a daughter's point of view that more often than not everything that comes with a father's love is more than enough. This brings the threat of tears to my eyes, but I know mine are nothing compared to your own. "I know this love will tear me to pieces |

Lady T...I know that you know all fathers have a special place in their hearts for their daughters. She was the apple of my eye to use a very old phrase. The thing I miss most beside her not being here is all the talks we use to share with each other. We talked for hours and hours from the time she was very young till she left this world. Thank you so much for reading and your heartfelt reply ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

My mom passed on February 8, 2019. I still call her name aloud every day. I miss her very much. I too believe we will be together again. I loved your poem. |
