Hold On~ Train whistle melts beneath the legs of midnight, An early riser leaves for work, thankful he still has work to go to, His mundane has become his solace. Lone dog barks at a bewitching harvest moon, As the flag flaps upon the pole, Accompanied by a chill Autumn wind. All gentle & familiar moments.. Continuance of life, turning...turning still, As we hold on. Fear, & the unknown.. lace the pillow Where a crowded head Trys to find an imprint of peace. Ticking of the clock, chill upon shoulder, As one burrows deeper into a puffy comforter.. Seeking temporary respite in this little corner of the dark. Geese parade morning, While a crow leads the chorus, Announcing another day to be faced, Breath of air shoves through a cracked window, Your Thoughts Shout some favorite words of wisdom.. 'This Too Shall Pass', as the continuance of things Keep turning...turning still, As we Hold On. ©Augustsky |

Temptress..Thank you much, I think this is what we're all trying to do..just 'hold on' within the current state of things. Sky~ ~Tell me the story about how the sun loved the moon so much..he died every night to let her breathe~ [This message has been edited by augustsky (10-06-2020 12:59 AM).] |

Wow! ![]() Incredible imagery, truly, and I’m an absolute sucker for it, but far too often I’ve misused it just to show off. Here you beautifully texture and color your story so it rings in the heart and mind of the reader much more closely. I dunno what I’m saying except, man... I’m blown out of my socks by this. You are brilliant. Never stop. Saving this. |

I spent years making “This too shall pass” my mantra, without ever really scratching the surface to employing change. I knew I wanted it, but did not actively seek it. I wonder at the amount of time I lost just hanging on. Even though it was a pretty rough landings when I finally did let go, it’s never been one I’ve regretted. New paths can be scary and just plain hard, but living in shadow is not living at all. Indeed, it will pass, then only questions are when, and how? Michael |

I understand where you're coming from Michael with your response from another angle thank you. I meant 'Hold on', or hanging on..as Not letting go..but having Hope. 'This too shall pass' has always been a favorite expression of mine..one will get through difficult times..it Will end. The belief & Faith of that is powerful in this uncertain scary time. Sky~ |
