Paper Ghost~

A paper ghost wanders here,
Unfinished endings with naive expectations
Hide themselves in rounded boxes
Neatly stacked as if they were old fashioned
Hat-boxes waiting for Sunday morning, a
Place to conceal week day sins.

A squatter walks here,
Longing, trails the residual pacing,
Dirty windowpanes hold those hypnotic
Stares of vigil.

Sign in the yard says 'all offers considered'.
Come own this place of smoothed over scars,
With the paper ghost..who's copyrighted loneliness.
Perhaps the sounds of life & love will vanquish the
Spector to the Wind,
Where any haunted heart can travel
Upon its gusty caravan,
Roaming till nothing but ashen
Metaphor remain.

You’re killing me, august. Struck dead in awe.

Phenomenal.

Sky...I might have to think on this mysterious rendering from you. Right now all I can think of is the ghost of unfinished poems pacing and waiting for their ending to be written.

I have a folder in my computer full of unfinished poems waiting for an ending.

Enjoyed very much...Paul

Love this. I have unfinished poems everywhere haunting me to finish them.

I've always considered my poetry a graveyard.  I am glad to see others share in the assessment to some extent.

"Perhaps the sounds of life & love will vanquish the
Spector to the Wind,"

Houses full of life and love are definitely harder to haunt.  Naive expectations or not.

Smiles@Souls, Thank you, you do my heart good.

Thanks to you all..Souls, Paul, Ida, & Michael..
All of you got the gist of what I was saying here..which was many things, how we..as writers can be haunted by our unfinshed work,
& I believe sometimes the thoughts & emotions
we put into our writes can be so strong they'll linger on once we've past.

This one definitely catches somewhere inside. I rarely write on paper now, but I do have a lot of unfinished things in my Notes app. When I go I want all of my paper stuff destroyed. If I stop in the middle of something I can never catch the same mood to finish it. Enjoyed.
