This Is Who We Are Oh until this beginning’s end we will run we will run we won’t stop until all is whole again Oh and until this ending begins we will see we will see these broken hearts back on the mend Oh this is who we are oh this distance to another star the bridge is crossed built on all we’ve won and lost on the search for love like a cosmic river up above never thought I’d see so far this is who we are Oh until all this burning cools we will fall we will fall we won’t stop even though we’re low on fuel Oh and until this cooling burns we will find we will find these broken hearts begin to stir Oh this is who we are oh this distance to another star the bridge is crossed built on all we’ve won and lost on the search for love like a cosmic river up above never thought I’d see so far this is who we are Oh and until we learn to bend we will break we will break hearts like kindling until one day we’ll awaken to ashes smoldering in our souls like supernova stars and we’ll wonder if this is who we really are “Social progress never rolls in on the wheels of inevitability.” MLK |
