The Black Hole;
By Paul Wilson

I was sucked into a black hole
With no hope of breaking free
Depression had me in its grasp
Light at end of the tunnel I couldn’t see

Didn’t want to face reality
Couldn’t pick myself up if I wanted to
No reason to carry on
All I could think of was you

Tried a few times to work my way back
To the life I once knew
Black hole kept pulling me deeper and deeper
Darkness more than I could get through

I cried and prayed for help
Just to crawl out of this hole
Day after day nothing changed
No one to help do damage control

Then you and I got to talking
You told me not to give up on life
Look for a reason to crawl out of this hole
Get back to my normal life

I tried like you said…gave it my all
Looked at myself in the mirror
Didn’t like what I saw
Had a conversation with Jesus things became clearer

I have you to thank Michael
For extending your hand to me
You pulled me from that black hole
That I had fallen in…now I am free

Thank You My Friend

Paul, I think the darkest aspect to any depression is the shameful feelings that we carry about it, which tend us to keep more silent and even isolate ourselves when dealing with it, rather than reaching out.  I know I have taken mine a step further and staunchly defended it when good, caring people have tried to help me.  Such actions only embed a person deeper in the cycle.

I saw the change in your writing immediately earlier this week and was very excited.  I think I can speak for us here and say we are glad to have “you” back Paul, and not just your shadow.  I also know depression well enough to know it will always follow a person and try to suck them back in, just know you never have to face it alone, Paul.  There is someone, who in all ways, always walks beside us.

Michael...I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you. I really didn't have anyone to talk to except you. My wife is a big supporter of me, but its hard for a loved one to be able to talk to another loved one in an un-biased way. We talked and she told me to thank you for helping me get back into writing.
I'm not sure what happened but I know your support and friendliness really gave me the inclination to start writing again, I had no desire to write and that has become a really big part of my life over the last 15 years or so.
I do feel that tug from depression every now and then but I just put it out of my mind as soon as I can. Having the will power to do this comes from my writing because I never want to lose that desire again. I'm not saying we are alike, but you are the closest person in the world to me that knows what its like to be in that rabbit hole to quote you.

Stay well my friend and thank you again...Paul

I do believe in the power of the unseen angels around us and if this is based on your reality then I am guessing your Angel is trying to keep you from being TAKEN by the darkness. Peace to you.

Forlorn Angel...Thank you so much for reading and your reply. This is very real, after my daughter passed away I was in a deep black hole and didn't care what happened to me till a friend here at Passions talked to me and gave me the desire to live once again. He is my guardian angel..Paul
