Down Lost Dog Lane~ Into the woods down lost-dog-lane the ideal place to walk and reflect, I let the fog take my hand and lose myself to long ago. I could feel him probing.. my imagination, and I let him pet my wonder, With a smile he licked the fingertips of my naivete, then sopped the loving of this woman's wiles, gravy..to his bread, innocence his dessert, and I let him. Dark eyes hypnotize, things always become murky, but we are still Better for the Knowing, even for the fleeting kiss, and the warm contagion of words, taken blind to the land of Nod, just to the left of his trove of dreams, thoughts to reincarnate whenever he wants, a twilight taste of sweet recall, to stir the pot of passion that bubbles with could-have-been. I walk alone through these haunted Woods while a poem meanders up ahead, leaves are but scatterings of vague obscenities, an old lovers whisper, a message tangled in the mist.. stoned into the past down lost-dog-lane. ©Augustsky |

“I walk alone through these haunted Woods while a poem meanders up ahead, leaves are but scatterings of vague obscenities, an old lovers whisper, a message tangled in the mist..” Phenomenal. A poem (or a song) always meanders up ahead of us, conscious of it or no. Ever will they come to those of us who are plugged in enough to receive. I don’t really know what I’m saying. All I know is I absolutely love this and your work in general, to make a long story less long. Please never let that pen go. |

Ah, it can be so tempting to try and peek down the doors of our pasts we never *fully opened...to just step back and place ourselves on that threshold of chance. This is written so beautifully I almost fear to apply my meager interpretation to it. "and I let him pet my wonder," loved that. Michael |

I've walked there, somewhere out of sight, behind you, because I could smell perfume in the air . . . tried but couldn't catch up - another trick of 'Lost Dog Lane' - where 'time' is just a shimmer separating all. really enjoyed . . . j. |

I've been to similar places, but could never describe it so beautifully. You bring magic to such memories. You have a beautiful gift. "How much is real? So much to question |

Sky, Gosh girl, I might as well just ditto what everybody else said. But I have to say, I can't get over the impact yout words have on me. I marvel at the flora and fauna of your incredible phrases as I follow your words eagerly wherever they take me.This particular piece made me literally crave chocolate at the end. Damn you're good! ~L |
