A Trifle, Really A piece of your soul, all I ask, Is that too much to give? Poetry is my art, my task, Only through it I live. With every line I yield through time, I leave a piece of me. The cup run dry, but for this sigh, Where is your poetry? I take you on my walks through hell, Show you my jaded skies. Can you not let me know you’re well? See the smile of your eyes? Two sides to this, I yield my kiss, A wish blown soft from palm. For joy, for pain, for toss of mane, Anything but dead calm! The silence is too much to bear, When even buzzards flee. I’ll take the wound, ever aware Cost of this lies with me. As shadow, itself drifts away To a fine mist—a haze, I pass through this silent abyss, And long for the old days. No "dead calm" please! The eyes are hungry and the brain needs challenging! I love this plea! Obviously my eyes and brain need sleep as well. I love this, Michael. It seems to have worked.

Jenn, the brain definitely needs, and responds to challenge. I think we should give them what they want. Oh, and sleep is highly, highly overrated. That's why we have caffeine after-all. Ida, thank you for your kind words. Seeing your recent words brought a huge smile to my face. Michael |
