Sleep overs on the couch
my favorite snacks
always at your house
Coffee from the gas station
sugar covered donut twists
Then for lunch
the best grilled cheese sandwiches

Sitting in your brown recliner
one foot on your little brown stool
I would sit across from you
As we watched your programs
in the early afternoon

The yard so full of trees
one planted just for me.
A house built just for our family
Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving
Holidays spent in your Livingroom.

Helping rake the yard of endless leaves
putting Christmas lights around the trees
picking up sticks to mow the yard
Putting up Christmas decorations
before the ground got hard

Staying over the night before Christmas eve
to help set up for the family gathering
Watching as you made your noodles.
The tree stood tall in the corner by the porch door
beneath it presents galore!
Though the lights and such are nice,
the thing I'll miss the most is spending the night.

As spring approached
Waiting for the snow to melt
so we could help
unstring the lights from the trees
And wrap extension cords up tight
Storing the decorations away
for next years holiday.

Helping hide eggs for little ones
watching them search is so much fun
I miss your smile
as you helped count
as each grandchild dumped their basket out.
Us older kids got treats too
thank you

There is so much more that I want to share.
And though I wish your time here had been longer,
to ask any more of you would not be fare.
I want you to know you helped make me stronger.
Thank you Grandma

Love and miss you

Very nice, loving tribute - I know she's smiling as she reads it.

This is a very sweet tribute.

I have one living Grandmother who I never get to see.

The one that is gone nurtured a lot of things I loved to do when no one else did. I miss her, but I've never been able to find words for her.

Heartwarming message and tribute.  My grandmother passed while I was young.  Been over 30 years and I still have crystal clear memories of all the little things she did for all of her grandchildren.  I am glad my grandmother wasn't the only special one.  I feel you loss.
