When the sun disappears
And the world goes to sleep
I'm praying my eyes close
So I can slumber so deep

at 3am I'm still wide awake
Praying soon I'll be dreaming
But as the clock ticks on
I feel like f'king screaming

Everyone around is snoring
sleeping is not something I do
I swear as I stare at the ceiling
I wish I could say this is new

For years I've unable to sleep
All night cozy in my bed
My mind is always churning
I wish I could get out of my head

It makes the day so very long
I cant sit still I cant tune it out
There's a party in my brain
That makes me want to shout

Where is Mr. Sandman?
Has he retired or got fired!
Its seems he forgot about me
I am sleepy but not tired

nothing to do.. no where to go
I'm so bored I want to cry
Hiding my head in my hands
Praying I would just die

the devil is getting even... for
Those years I slept unaware
When sleep was a pastime
I did not have a care

Lynn,
I feel for you. I have insomnia too, only not as bad. I can fall asleep, I just can't stay asleep. Done some of my best writing at 3am.
