Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Gusbie,
Mr. Guspers,
Ole Gusgus,
Gussy,
and Gus,
all monicers
of the same mutt.
On paper he is a Haggis.
Of course I prefer
all the other terms
of endearment
for my noble
little beast.

He is a barker,
but he makes conversation.
(mostly arguing and back talk)
He is a lover.
He will lick your face off
and wash your glasses for free.
He is a cuddler,
in my lap,
on my bed
and at my feet.
He is a con artist
and suckers me out of treats.
He is my shadow
everywhere I go.

He is a bright-eyed gift
to a bereft heart
that Winston,
Aka:
Winkydoo,
Winky,
Winkums
and Twinks
left behind.
He is my little man,
my little dog
with the big, big heart.
I’d tell you all about him,
but, I wouldn’t know where to start.
