A little black and tan scruff of canine growl and ruff that can’t lick you enough. His ears are soft and silky and I’d be a liar if I didn’t say the rest of him felt like wire. He is a dog treat junkie, willing to act like a monkey. A few things he can obey. He can sit, speak and stay. He’ll growl, bark and whine to get his way. Give him a squeaky toy and he is full of joy. Give it a toss and he comes alive, off the sofa he does a dive and runs to catch it then back he’ll fetch it. Like a maniac he’ll run a lap, then jumps in my lap for a quick nap. He loves his bed, but not for sleeping. It is a big plush toy for bone keeping. On the back of the sofa he will perch to look out the window and search the backyard for reasons to snort and sniff, and get the hair on his back stiff. He loves to go for a ride be it near or far, doesn’t care if it's the truck or car. If you leave him in he will bark and shout, take your keys or he will lock you out. Oh the funny little things he’ll do like rest his head on my stocking foot with his nose in my empty shoe. Gus is a dog of great gumption because he goes by one assumption. Regardless of shape or size, everyone is a friend in his eyes, even though his bark is fearsome. And I am his beloved human. LGR(C)3/29/20 |
