Lantern yellow

Lantern yellow blazes brightly
Casts welcome through darkness nightly
Pushing shadows away to hide
Bringing warmth to the cold outside

Lantern yellow offers promised care
A place to rest and a place to share
A flicker, a dance - the light shines on
Until dawn breaks and the dark is gone

Lantern yellow shines from within our hearts
One tiny spark offers a place to start
To allow others haven from life’s storms
Erasing fearful hate with love that warms

Lantern yellow ...

Ah, for darkness is but absence of light,
Lantern yellow is a most splendid sight.

Great to see you, Alison.  You've brightened our day with your poem, and your presence.

Lovely to see you again, Alison.  And what a beautiful, heart-comforting Alison-poem!  The only problem I have with it, is that it is difficult to leave it and I keep reading it over and over (and its wonderful effect never lessens), but I can't keep doing that all day!

So, so happy to know you're still here, my friend.  My HEART to you.

I really enjoyed seeing your writing again, as always . . . my favorite lines - - - the first two of each stanza, though, overall, every one of them!
