Saint Agatha & The Stemless Rose Woman as a foreign agent to slip into your bloodstream and light the oil lamps at first raven fall of night she is poked and prodded and burned and cut her humble beauty a weapon of mass destruction to touch these silenced lips is to consort with the devil Eve and Lilith dancing the scales in hearts of backward men whose blackened stone countenances desperately try to measure the fairer heart fools and kings claim power but bite the hand that feeds bleed the body that brings the life to the hearts that pump the blood to the hands that conspire to make a sin out of what comes as naturally as breathing ignorance and fear reign mighty but time and tide remains on the side of mother earth daughter moon sister stars grandmother sun and sweet loving and understanding wife must be all the rivers that run to sea they can take you beyond you and love, faith, understanding and devotion you will give in return the past is a shipwreck with bloodied sails and with those we'll not catch the wind but there's a dove signifying hope ahead in her beak she carries a stemless rose "Somewhere in a burst of glory, sound becomes a song" - Paul Simon |
