No More Tomorrows By Paul Wilson I’m afraid to close my eyes and sleep Because when I wake up I’ll remember you’re no longer here I’m afraid to stay awake Because my mind won’t stop thinking of you You were here just yesterday And today my dear daughter you are gone My heart weeps from the loss of you We shared the last ten minutes of your life holding hands With your passing everything has changed for me No more daily talks on the phone, no more memories made together Future plans and dreams no longer matter An empty heart replaces one that was filled with your love I wonder if you can see the stars from Heaven ? Does it rain in Heaven and bring happiness to you ? Have you embraced friends and loved ones that are in Heaven? I’m sure they are all happy to see you I count the days since you’ve gone hoping you could come back Each night I thank God for the time we had together I pray that one day I will see you again and happiness will fill my heart There are no more tomorrows, yesterdays or todays for you just eternity No more pain and worries about the future and other earthly things I know you are much better off now than when you were alive Your life on earth was hard and you struggled every day to do your best My heart is healing a little every day and I talk to you all the time These words don’t compare to the love I have for you But I’m sure you know how I feel about you Till our stars collide again and the world explodes Into a beautiful rainbow of colors These words and my love for you will have to do I see your smiling face each day And remember all that we shared Sweet daughter of mine I will never forget you Copy Righted 12-18-2019 ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |
