Love is such a funny thing- The way it makes you feel. It makes you feel dependent, Makes you wonder if it’s real? It brings you myriad fantasies Of just how life would be… If we were but together- O, if you were here with me! I know I’d love your accent- As you would laugh at mine- Yet even in your mockery, I’d find you sweet, and kind. Our lives would be so giddy- Like teens on their first date- And life would be a wonder- Unmarred by fear or hate. I do not understand it- Though I know it to be true- The love I’ve sought, my whole life through Is personified in you! |
