Awesome is a word I hear, nearly every day- Applied to mundane matters, and I must say them, Nay! I’ve seen the mighty Rockies, and canyons of the west, Awesome is the word, I think, which can describe them best. I’ve seen the mighty breakers, on Oahu’s famed North Shore- And lain upon the sandy beach, and listened to their roar- With power to grind the rock to sand, with their incessant beat- Awesome well might be the word, ascribed to such a feat. The power of love on human heart, and in the human mind- While baffling, is wonderful; this mystery I find- Might well deserve the sobriquet of “awesome”, don’t you think? Yet from such deep emotions, a person might well shrink… To meet a person, heart to heart, requires a lot more grace- Than is required, for meeting, a person face to face… The mystery of friendship, transcends emotions raw- And I believe that such a feat, could be described as “awe”. |

Yes, yes, yes on both scores - the misuse and denigration of the word "awesome" - and the mystery, magic and ecstasy of a meeting of two hearts in love is truly deserving of the word 'awe'. True, touching and beautiful thoughts, John, and so well-woven poetically into your poem! |

Gunslinger - AWE...shucks! Well you hit the bullseye with this one. I much liked the rhythm, the rhyme and what's life without its "awe". Very nice work GS. Namyh |
