You told me it was over- you had to move along. We were no good together- In that, I think you’re wrong. You say you have to spread your wings- You feel the need to fly. But, darling, let me warn you- There are no friendly skies. This world is full of heartache- This world will bring you tears… You’ll need someone to love you- And calm you in your fears. So, when you finally realize- Dear, when you finally see… That we really need each other, then come on back to me.. I’ll be right where you left me, and I will be alone- So, when the world forsakes you, my darling, hurry home. Life’s not the same without you, the silence is so loud- Without you I am lonely, even when I’m in a crowd. You may not be aware, dear, but when you did depart- You took a vital part of me; I’m speaking of my heart. But it belonged to you, dear; that I can’t deny- You stole it when we met, babe, and will own it till I die. So, go ahead and soar, love, may your dreams lift you high- But won’t you please be careful? There are no friendly skies. But after you have tried your wings, and tasted life that’s free- Remember, I am waiting, and come on back to me. |

John, you are really writing up a storm these days! I marvel at the heart so smitten that even after it is scorned, is willing to wait for that love to return. ~L |
