20 October 2019

Sadness pervaded our skies
and I touched the closed window
with ten finger tips . . . longing . . .
I knew we would be all right
and that our hearts would lighten
with time . . .
although
heavy were our hearts
for a while
mangled in the ether.

But then, the clouds parted a sunbeamwidth
and we knew
that no hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis
nor ten thousand miles of ocean,
nor death,
could wipe away
the forever hearth
and eternal fire
that Time and our love have birthed
deep in my heart home
for you, my love, my comfort, my gentle strength.

Beautiful, Diana... amazing in the fact that it is poignant, and yet encouraging. Lovely work.

Thank you for your beautiful reply, John.  I am so happy that you find it poignant, yet encouraging.  Thank you for finding, reading and knowing the heart and soul of my poem, as you always do.
