My Niche~

I am an Autumn Woman,
give me a quiet cozy spot
with a view of gorgeous trees
speaking a calico-sienna language
as they drop their gifts to the wind.

Give me fuzzy socks, a warm fire, a hot
drink on a crisp Fall day..the kind of day
that lets you inhale all its earthy scents &
secrets as the chill of dusk settles in for the night.

I'll need a fresh notebook ready for ink,
to write..and jot down puzzle-piece-thoughts
for future Poems, throw in a good book for later,
& I will be in all my glory,
content & October wistful
while leaves cocoon my door-step.

Ahhhh... Awesome write - my favorite of yours to this point.

I can see you down on Royal St., New Orleans, second floor, sitting beneath 15ft ceilings, blues from Bourbon St. drifting though half-open balcony doors . . .'Stormy Monday' the melody. . .

Yeah, and I long to be there too. . .

Well..Thank you for the nice compliment in reply J.
As for Royal St., that's quite a jump from
the little cabin type house I thought of while writing my Poem lol.
Sounds interesting..

Sky, I did think about that 'jump' before I posted, then thought, let's be a little more adventurous...heh, heh.  Almost threw a little Marie Laveau into the mix but decided better to quit while ahead.

Sky,
You had my mouth watering for a cup of hot apple cider and captured my heart with fuzzy socks. Then you blew my mind with
  "while leaves cocoon my door-step."
Love this~! ~L

You definitely give perspective to those of us who tend to dwell in the dark.  Stop us in our anxiety-filled tracks and remind us to breathe.  If I had to describe this in one word, it would be peace.

Have a few of those notion-filled notebooks laying around myself.

"Peace"..How lovely for you to say that,
& that's how it felt in the moment, but like
everyone there are other times when a darkened corner is my retreat.

Thank you Poet Michael..
