With Fibonacci codes tattooed They met the end of mice and men. Dehumanised, aghast, abused In concrete tombs, unspectacled. No abacus, no finger count, No algorithm carved in stone Nor tablets from some holy mount Can calculate or comprehend The deaths and depths of man. |

Much to contemplate in these quaint two little stanzas. Always loved the "divinity implied" and "more to the universe/higher cause" feelings the Fibonacci sequence and Golden Ratio bring with them. Not nearly as much as I love some of the ink dedicated them, or at least inspired by them. Mankind, for all its bleakness, does have great depth. Will give you that. |

Michael, Thanks for taking the time to read and reply. Man has indeed a tremendous capacity to achieve greatness, unfortunately however man also has an unfathomable capacity for the opposite. In 1938 in a personal journal John Steinbeck wrote: quote: At that same time in Germany and Austria Jewish businesses and homes were attacked, ransacked or set on fire during what became known as Kristallnacht - the Night of Broken Glass. To some this escalation of persecution marked the beginning of what would become known as the Holocaust, possibly the ultimate example of what can happen when people don't try to understand each other. |

I love the language you use in this one. There's so much implied and stated in such a short piece. Well done. |
