If the sun rose in the morning- And if I were not there. If I slipped my earthly tether in my sleep- I wonder if I've done enough, For anyone to care? Would any even take the time to weep? Life is but a journey, with lots of ups and downs, Decisions made that cannot be undone. A trek on which the laughter, is far outweighed by frowns; Before your race on earth is fully run. Some people say I’m morbid, that’s not the case at all. I simply choose to face reality. The blissful fool who doesn’t, is riding for a fall, Denial’s simply not my cup of tea. Do these words have a message? I really cannot say. Maybe nothing worth the time to read. Just an admonition to give life all you have- A warning I doubt anyone will heed. |

I think I ascribe to the theory life takes all you have, whether you're in a giving mood or not.  Seriously though, it is a special breed who live for each moment, never knowing if it's their last. Having eyes opened to death as the ultimate ending is not for the masses. I like your "Denial’s simply not my cup of tea" line. |

I may not shed a tear if I read you had past. It is just a part of life. But I'd cry a bucket of tears to know you'd never write another poem. |
