While it’s plain I’m getting older- Wisdom seems to be in short supply. I’ve been told they come together, But in my case, that seems to be a lie. With sixty-five behind me- And a lot of hard, hard living in my wake. The fact there’s naught to show for it, I sometimes find that mighty hard to take. I’ve lived and loved, but now I wonder, Just where the all those wasted years have gone. And why the past seems better… Than the future that I’m facing all alone? I have always been a loner- I guess I’ve always been a bit too proud. I liked my space about me, So you’d rarely ever find me in a crowd. As long as I keep breathing- I guess I’ll follow those illusive dreams, Although I’m well aware by now, That nothing’s ever really like it seems. I always tried to tell myself, I liked my life, but realize I lied. But this one thing is certain- Although I failed, at least I know I tried. |

what a lovely worded poem, although I must say, we never fail....we learn, and we're directly on the path we're supposed to be, for our very own personal journey. Some we win, some we lose but we never fail, and when we think we lost, we've actually really won, b/c hopefully we will learn..but failure, no, never!!! Believe it. Hugs Lee J. |

Yes, we've entered that stage where everything is questioned in a far different way than from our youth. However, I'm glad we're both here to talk about it, and better yet, read about it, and know we are not alone. |
