Gimme some more
of that Common Core
Complete my confusion
with your constant intrusion.
I need more fake history
and unfathomable math.
Addle my brain
until I am daft.
I don't need cursive.
What is geography?
And please don't talk
about biology.
Indoctrinate me
and I'll support the cause,
follow the leader,
subvert the laws,
and destroy the country...
just because.

Marchmadness - Faith-in-self has eroded from our society and it needs to be put back in. When you start believing someone else's' definitions of what is and disregard your own, you've become a member of the "common core". Welcome home! Thanks for the reminder Ida. Namyh

tann, Common Core is a way of teaching that I totally disagree with and it has failed miserably, just as I said it would.

...and today, we see the logic of the common core generation, and all else they've been teaching our children in school, coming to its fruition.

I think if I'd had children I would have needed to totally re-educate myself just to help them with homework.

To be honest,  I lack understanding so much that I don't know it's impact.

This poem makes me want to find out though.

"How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
Contaminating everything"

Thank you Poets, love to engage in dialogue that encourages others to think and myself to learn.
