The Room Growing Light So your words say no body language mumbled barely aloud I admit I am not proud no begging let me go while everything in me says please stay I admit I am not okay In the room growing light Jane you don’t fit me right I know we’ve tried and tried and tried but the painting hasn’t dried I’ll see you again after tonight in the room growing light Oh actions say no your movement says you’re too cool for school I submit that I’m a fool no I’ve nothing left to say but there’s so much on my mind today I submit I’m not okay In the room growing light Jane you won’t see the light I know we’ve tried and tried and tried but the river is so wide I’ll see you again after tonight in the room growing light The shape and taste of morning hits our tongues without a warning though all along I watched the light slowly rising slowly rising and burning on In the room growing light maybe someday you’ll fit me right even though we’ve tried and tried and tried we wait until the painting has dried and I’ll see you again after tonight in the room growing light two faces greet the dawn slowly rising and burning on "Put your ear down close to your soul and listen hard" -Anne Sexton |

soul drifter...You weave your words so tenderly in this poem. Really enjoyed the mystery you leave in the mind of the reader...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |
