Cemetery Wind~

It blows cold on this little hill,
cemetery wind shudders trees, stalks
icy ridges and forgotten leaves.
This year a pinecone & evergreen cross
is laid, so stunning against the snow.

Words are finger traced upon stone,
tears fall,
thoughts coddle next to memory
for the one who loved
unconditionally.

In leaving
chill hunches shoulders,
a kiss to lips then pressed to her name,
Oh..what I wouldn't give
this silent-night..
for the warmth of her voice,
a cup of her coffee,
and our tablecloth-talk.

Sky,
This just as well could have been a video, so vivid a picture you created. It brought tears to my eyes. Bless your heart, this is beautiful. What a special Christmas gift for her in remembrance. ~L

Oh..what I wouldn't give
this silent-night..
for the warmth of her voice,
a cup of her coffee,
and our tablecloth-talk.

reminds me of my mom, and yes, what I wouldn't give for a moment with her again...
we were so close and used to have such long conversations...

thank you for writing such a beautiful memory.
