It is in the forecast, days away. Weather map shows us getting several inches by Thursday. I have mixed emotions. Ever since I totaled the car on that icy overpass, I drive in it with white knuckles. But the possibility of a snow day, has me hoping for a winter wonderland outside my window. Can’t help but hope for big fat flakes falling slowly carpeting the ground and covering the trees. I don’t mind staying inside under a blanket reading and writing. A pot of chili and some warm corn bread will hit a cold and hungry spot. I hope it snows, with a caveat, that it snows a lot. I do not like snow I do not like ice wind or rain, so glad I can work from home...in bad weather...I see one snow flake, and that's it for me...lol would rather just stay home and snuggle up in front of the fireplace. So sorry you experienced an accident in the stuff...awful, but so glad your ok. |

"A pot of chili and some warm corn bread will hit a cold and hungry spot. I hope it snows,. . . " It's 84 degrees in my back yard at the moment, and muggy - God, do I hope it snows . . . ! Hot or not, I DO have a pot of Chili going and we plan cone pones to go with it (we eat a lot more cone pones vs loaf cornbread, and like the custiness they provide all around). Chili - well now that's one of the required foods in Texas, eaten all year long, outside being hot, cold or just any kind of weather. ![]() [This message has been edited by jwesley (11-06-2018 12:59 PM).] |

Jimmy I think my grandma had a pan like that! Personally I like to take my cornbread and crumble it in the chili instead of crackers. ~L |

Ah, snow is a lot of things, according to whomever you are talking to. I'm from Arkansas where we got snow every ten years or so. I loved it when we did get some, but not enough for me. I wanted a LOT of the white stuff. Sssh!! I finally got some. Joined the Air Force, came out of basic training and shipped off to Cheyenne, Wyoning and you can bet I was ready for a LOT of snow. I got a lot of snow. Come to find out I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Eh, so much about snow. They can keep it as far as I'm concerned. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Love that attitude, Lori. Looks like colder winter here too, it started early this year. Stay at home, don't go out if you don't need to. I'm with you on the chili and cornbread. Ummm Ummm good. Made me hungry... Very nice poetry, Lori. JL ![]() |

LGR, I know that feeling well (first snow of the season) especially love that feathery-kind, & big flakes round Xmas time. Enjoyed reading your write, and I plan on chili tomorrow..with bacon. ![]() Sky~ |
