Forgive them, Lord they know not what they do. Or so I pray. I hate it Lord, that there even is a “they”. That means there is an “us” and that we are “against”. I know you wouldn’t want it this way. All the anger and resentment, the hatred and lies we act upon or ignore that’s dividing us, is the devil having his day. We feel so right and justified in our ill will, we forget lessons of the heart that Christ did instill. You do not have to believe in God, to understand the principles of What Would Jesus Do. Or to comprehend why a Nation would use that as a foundation. Being founded on Freedom of Religion, makes Separation of Church and State a logical decision. It is for no one to say you can only pray one way. We are called to love them all and let God sort them out. So, forgive us Lord we know not what we do. Lord, help us for not pleasing you. Another eloquent phrasing which you took on the dissenters, of which, as you know I am one one. This is so wonderful, I was enchanted by it, and I applaud you (clap-clap)! ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
