What do I gotta do
to stop your yelling?
What do I gotta do
to make you listen?
You can't hear me say
I hear you.
You don't want to try
to understand.
You dismiss me as an idiot
that's trying to give
your money away.
You call my facts fiction.
All you have
to say for yourself
is "Yeah, what he said!"
And you'll still believe it
even if it it isn't true.
You're not interested
in finding a resolution.
You're too busy
fixating on revolution.
You wear your politics
like a chip
on your shoulder
and your bigotry
like a banner.
This new patriotism
isn't bringing out the best
of who we are
or who we need to be
to survive as a nation.
You are cutting off your noses
to spite your angry faces
and by the time you look
in the mirror,
it will be to late.

Better to shun than to bad mouth. I respect your choice. I have (unfriended)friends on FB that I wish would unfriend me rather than be hateful.
