It is fascinating to observe the way my memory works with the holding on and letting go. I’ve been through things I never would have imagined that have left blanks spaces I have no desire to refill. While at the same time it seems some dramas are forever like it was only yesterday. Names now escape me like marbles from a bag. It is not just people, but things and places as well, that draw a blank. I can feel the words on a wheel spinning inside of my head that can’t remember to stop on the right places or faces. I know I’m at that age where one’s head begins to act like a sieve. So now I’m just grateful I can remember my name and where I live. LGR(C)8/26/18 |

Paul, My Mom has dementia and her sister died of Alzheimer's, so it is always on the back of my mind. I have seen how hard it is on the spouses. Hugs ~L |

LeeJ, Me too, but odds aren't in my favor. With my lack of a sense of direction getting lost has always been a concern too. ~L |

Yeah! Feel your pain . . . I think I have more empty spaces than spaces . . . people always have to give me some latitude in conversations while my pauses and searches my brain, and rooms have even given up giving me hints to satisfy my reason for entering them. Thankfully I still pretty well remember what I went to the bathroom for . . . could go on and one, just like you could, but so far, still find my way home from anywhere (although I need to think about where I'm going . . .) and on and on... loved this, makes me feel better knowing you're afflicted also!! j. |

I suppose most everyone has a bone to pick when the advancing years heaps terrible things upon us. Many times when I pass someone on the street or wherever He/She will not meet my eyes. It is then I begin to think they think I am an old man. Then I have to stop and think, I AM and old man! ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
