a zephyr moves the night giving the trees their soft sway rustling leaves 'neath the moon's glow bright tonight like a highlight from paradises' portal causing the dark to recede spotlighting the grass bending in cadence with the leaves as they quiver from gentle winds a different kind of light cascades noiselessly beside an open window curtains are pulled allowing artificial light to subdue the night noise from inside the room penetrates and whispers as a pleasant smell wafts from within and the zephyr begins to grow in intensity window slams shut curtain shuts down the night leaves on the trees shimmy and dance but this time only the stars are observing ©July 31, 2018 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
