tune in drop out Timothy admonished us all to grove with him and get down on anyone who the hell cared who did what to who or is it whom Timothy Leary was a rat-fink Helped us shift the whole world out of sync the love generation our generation we found love through the smoke the toke sniffing and the acid burn we never stopped to smell those roses they talked about Life was good staying high as a kite Look behind you though, sometimes kites bite love we, the love children the city of love the love generation all we needed was love make love not war love The flower children we thought we were great But if you weren't with us we could hate ©April 10, 2017 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Yes those were pivotal times for our country. The Vietnam war played a big part. My two oldest brothers got in on the tail end of the movement. I would say that the turmoil of the 60's is no worse than stuff that goes down today. I think the 60's were a purer time of ideals and drugs compared to today. ~L |

I agree there were some good thing which were born in the sixties, Lori, I was there, however, and I just didn't care for what I was seeing. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Jerry...That was a crazy mixed up time. Everyone wanted to be cool back then, but now most of us conform, we were the dreamers of then and the seniors of today enjoyed...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |

As Paul replied, we were the dreamers of then...I thought we had made so much progress and now...I feel society going backwards...a very scary time at this age. M |

Somehow, society knew what the dreamer did not. Dreamers needed moral a compass. Nothing the sixties shelled out had anything which could be related to a moral compass. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
