Six Miles of Sentries |

The six mile road to the highway is lined with mostly wheat fields. The early hot temperatures have it already headed out and starting to turn yellow as it waves in the breeze. In the ditches where the blue bachelor buttons grow wild, Redwing blackbirds perch guarding their territory. Like red winged jack-in-the-boxes, they pop up at random, flashing their bright feathers. They are thick as thieves that scatter as cars go by. Not even June and it looks like July with summer colors to greet the eye. LGR(C)5/25/18 |
