Fair to middlin' of nowhere

I’ve got next to diddley to do today
So I thought I’d get a ridiculously early start.
Coffee drank,
poems read and written…
Let the snacking begin!
One peach yogurt with a nap chaser please!
Don’t mind if I do.
4 am finds me snuggled under my blanket
and shortly thereafter finds me oblivious.
Nature calls me at 5:30 to ...ahh
make room for more coffee.
Honey Nut Cheerios beckon  from the cupboard.
I’m not one for passing them by.
As I drink the last swallow from the bowl,
I toast the coming slumber.
Lights off, the world is still dark,
still sleeping.
Soon so am I.
And so it goes,
off and on,
until  about three in the afternoon.
By then I’m either rested
or grown bored of napping.
I’m ready to greet a day
more than half over,
with no intentions of
staying up late.

Oh, I have been through that stage in my life, my friend, the times where I could never get enough sleep and napped, napped, napped my life away. Horrible. I hated it.
