I’ve lived within the instant
absorbing what I could
I’ve given of myself
been given to the world
at the time I couldn’t see
what was straight ahead
directly in front of me
shied away from strangers
except the girl kind
made blunders here and there
always too stoned  to care
those moments I have endured
to be of the age I am
what can I say
it all passed so quickly
not much matters
but today
I sit here willingly
to what I had
I've had my say
in this one trip to the end
have I wasted my years
so many of them
like so many others
I sure have lived with
yes, with regrets
can't cry over that spilt milk
it was what it was

Someone I know is fond of saying "that was yesterday and yesterday is gone". I believe it is okay to look back with regrets and wishes of do overs. You just can't live and die in that past. Now is not the time for regrets, you have paid your dues. Call an armistice to the war with yourself and live in peace. ~L
