The beauty of a rose; a woman's smile,
Will eventually fade away and die,
The young fear not death and can be hostile,
Youth feels the world is his stage and ally

The glitter dome with its strobe lights flashing,
Will also be extinguished at days end,
All living things will someday be crashing,
Money can't buy eternal life, my friend.

But oh, sweet bird of youth n'er heeds the time,
Haughtily thinking forever they'll live,
Knowing death bells for them will never chime,
Live for the present and everyday thrills.

But steadily they march toward their end,
Suddenly, with eyes open wide they see,
What looms in their future they do contend,
Now they search their souls to find the right key.

So very true Jerry. I'm glad you have found reincarnation to believe in. We all need to believe in something. Even those that believe in nothing believe in that. Dennis always says  when it is your time to go, it is your time to go. As for myself I'm more concerned about how not when I go. I figure everyday I don't keel over is a win. ~L

Yep, I hear you big time, Lori. I'm to the age, as you said, "everyday I don't keel over is a win." In my wildest dreams I never thought I'd see the day where on my next birthday I'll be eighty. Damn!

You are fortunate Jerry. I read the obits now that I'm "old". I check the ages. The people younger than me passing away gets my attention and there are more than I'd like to see.
Making it to your eighties is a good run, especially if you still have your wits about you. ~L

Hah! I wonder at times about my wits, but I understand what you are saying. I check the obits also and realize I am most fortunate as you said. And to coin an old CCR phrase, I just "keep on chooglin'."

JerryP - Ironic it is that each day Death strikes but we live our lives as though we were immortal. We can't change our inevitable Death but we can change our inevitable Life, even at 60, 70 and 80. Somebody up High was thinking way ahead about our human species! Enjoyed this one JP. Namyh

Thank you ever-so-much, Namyh. You have said so much that is a truism in our daily lives. I do not fear death in the least, just like to ramble on about it. Thanks again
