I bent and kissed her cheek in parting n’er thinking she would be dead on the morrow she called me a dreamer aye, I have that glint in my eyes but more than a dream I cast my lot upon the wild and treacherous fate called a hallucination alongside a shaky vision into the future I’ve yet to learn what we see with cloudy eyes is nothing more than a delusion within a figment of imagination now I rest amid her death’s wail stuck inside this swamp’s piercing anger I have found paradise but I shall forever live here alone braced against that cold, wanton wind called Mariah this paradise I have found Mariah has told me of the demise of my one love, my lovely bride-to-be has turned into a window of hell as I moan and shed tears for my sweetness n’er again to hold and love and, as I cry is what all we can see is everything only a nightmare made within a nightmare? ©February 18, 2018 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

That's some heavy duty poetry there Jerry. Some parts were painful to read. It felt like you really poured yourself into it. ~L |

Yes, Lori, this was a difficult write, and something I seldom write about. There are some things even I cannot delve into, and I so appreciate you reading and understanding that it was, a different kind of write for me. I didn't even touch upon it in the memoir. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
