Fair to middlin' of nowhere

When I really stop to think about it,
what I wanted to be as a kid,
I have become as an adult.
I’m a wife and mother
and a secretary.
I have the kind of life I want.
It is laid back,
no frills,
making ends meet.
I never wanted to be rich.
Somewhere early on
I got the notion that wealth
did bad things to your personality.
I wanted the home I have now
back when it was new.
I love the family antiques
that I have acquired over the years.
I like my car.
So laments about my discontent
must be passing clouds
of my judgement.
My state of mind too often dark
and prone to worry.
I’ve got everything I wanted,
everything I need,
to be happy.

Yesterday I did something I haven't done in a long, long time. I took my old dilapidated  spring wreath, (I got from my parents) pulled off as much of what was left of the old silk flowers and hot glued 2$ worth of new flowers and greenery to it and made it brand new again. That is the old me I know and love. I had left over silk flowers and greenery that I used on the front porch-another project near and dear to my heart. I also got new towels and accessories for the guest bath since my daughter moved out. Decorating that was fun for me as well. So, things are looking up here in Whoville. Can I get a hell yeah?! Woowho!

Thanks Yann,
I'm so glad you used the word cozy, I like to think that is the way my home feels. I guess I even think of myself as a cozy kind of person now that I think about it. ~L
