Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Spring stopped by yesterday afternoon
to inform us with a wicked smile
that more winter weather was on the way.
She sashayed her sunshine about
dancing on a brisk breeze.
“No rain today.” she laughed teasingly.
She knows she has beauty and power.
She is so lovely the world around her
starts to turn green with envy.
Days like yesterday some can’t resist
and play hooky from work.
And she has the power to wrestle an hour
forward from fall’s saving daylight.
She is a fickle one, Springtime.
She can be coy and gentle as a kitten
or throw thunderous storms in a fury.
And soon when all is blooming
and she is in her full splendor,
we will think to ourselves,
we’ve never seen a more lovely season.

Pinkysprinky,
I'm glad you like it. Seems like the two seasons do play tug of war until spring wins out. ~L
