Of course, you know that you were always number two. Even in the beginning you cramped my style with your slowness-- unable to quickly transcribe my rambling thoughts-- but you never complained about my vice-like grip or gnawing teeth. Most folks in this modern world, consider your bright yellow dress quaint and boring, trick you out in stylistic colors and ratchet you down with a click-click-click. Today, I can look at your lean and slender form, smile at that pink, pink pillbox hat that you insist on wearing and know that you will always be pointed and true at the end of the world when the lights go out and keyboards cease their endless chatter, you will be there like a ballerina en pointe, ready to dance with me across a sheet of white Ink runs from the corners of my mouth There is no happiness like mine. I have been eating poetry. ~Mark Strand |

There'll be no ratchetting down with a click, click, click on your pages. Number two she will always be, but you'll lead her well. Dance on, the stage is yours and the audience appreciates the skill. |

Thanks redstart ... even though now 99 44/100% of my writing is done on the computer, I keep pencils/paper at the ready, because you never know when the lights will go out |
