Let me go back, just for one day. Back, before responsibility, when empathy's bulb was buried deep in the soil of self-absorption. Let me feel again the freedom of youth and the flitting heartbeat of ever-present passion. Back, when colours held a breathing vibrancy. A dress, a flower, a ribbon amalgamating to a pulsing, embracing kaleidoscope of expectation and desire. Back, when we were wrapped in the certain knowledge that we stood at a portal of wonder, and everything in our world was not for sharing. It was ours, and ours alone. Back, to summer scents and glory skies, when days conquered life with consummate ease. Each ruling with a regal belief that nothing would ever change. Back, when one look, one word, one touch, were vast volumes of devotion. And we alone understood that we were blessed. |

I have been waiting for this first post, Redstart, and it is all I expected it would be. Your sense of regal being as you dream of long ago days is magnificent. The depths you wrote about and the wonder of being so alive sent me back to those days of mine. ~*~ Less depends on the size of the dog in a fight than the size of the fight in the dog. ~*~ |

I was taken back as well. But you gave the remembering back that original sense of adolescent ego and pride I had long since forgotten... Thank you for bringing that back to me. Remembering that time before life happened, and I stood straighter is quite a gift. Lori |

An octave of perfect pitch, lying back in the grass of a summer eve. Fine dining for the senses here. |
