Mother, I have found out your name you gave me away the moment I was born I forgive you your intention was clear you didn’t want me even though I was your blood I can imagine what you might have been going through the people you gave me to kept me fed always clothed me in clean clothes I won’t bother you with how my adopted mother treated me I think I’m half French she screamed, that’s the damn French coming out of you once during a beating ©March 24, 2014 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ Why is bra singular and panties plural? ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (04-22-2014 08:23 AM).] |

Your hurt comes through loud and clear here. One thing is for certain Jerry, you will never know that she didn't want you just because she gave you away. Many mothers give their babies away because they know they cannot care for them. Had she known the life she was giving you into she might have decided to give you to someone else. More often than not giving a child away is the hardest thing a woman will ever do and it is an act of love. Take heart my friend. I understand, Lori. I could have used another expression instead "you didn’t want me," but it won out over the others. Thank you for your caring thoughts. ~*~ Why is bra singular and panties plural? ~*~ |

I would think that many adopted children feel that way about their biological mothers giving them up, especially if they are as unhappy as you were with your adoptive mother. Because the woman that raised you was incapable of supporting you emotionally as a child, especially as an adopted one at that, she did not help you come to terms with your feelings about your biological mother as a child. I think your poem was dead on. Lori |

After I have located her name (Mary Turnage), you might think would want to go further and find out things about her, her other children and such. I thought about that, but something held me back. I find that I am content to let it be. ~*~ Why is bra singular and panties plural? ~*~ |

No way to sugarcoat the rough beginning you got tossed into. This hurts to read. |
