I keep my own counsel No one knows what I'm thinking I just smile, a demure little tilt of my lips And lower my eyes Nothing to give me away I keep my thoughts quite on my tongue Line them up behind the windows of my eyes Safely tucked away Assigned and catalogued According to the happening I see But not so many leave my lips When words are your trade They're a precious And to be used with care No one knows what I'm thinking With a demure smile and lowered eyes I access all the secrets and all the codes To all the places you should not have gone Because who holds his tongue In the presence of one Who thinks her many thoughts To herself alone It may not always be pretty |

"It may not be poetry, but it will be true." Poetry in any other name is . . . Trying to make sense of forever. Liked your thoughts put in the guise of poetry, and THAT makes it poetry. ~*~ In America, anyone can become president. That's the problem. ~*~ |

Welcome to Passions! What an insightful poem! Please, check your email for a Very Special Greeting! "The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." Thomas Hardy |
